HOOPS Visualize 2018 Now Supports Siemens Parasolid Convergent Modeling
HOOPS Visualize Extends Support for CAE and 3D Printing Workflows, Enhances Performance
BEND, Ore., July 2, 2018 - Tech Soft 3D, leading provider of development toolkits to the engineering software industry, today announces the release of Service Pack (SP) 1 for HOOPS® Visualize 2018 software development toolkit (SDK), which provides support for Siemens Parasolid Convergent Modeling.

By converging classic, solid (B-rep) and facet model operations in a single geometric modeling component, Parasolid convergent modeling enables software vendors to efficiently support workflows that seek to leverage both geometric representations. Additionally, Siemens Parasolid support of loading multiple models into a single scene has been added to HOOPS Visualize.
The HOOPS Visualize 2018 SP1 also provides significant performance improvements:
- Selection performance for rays, points and area is improved and now faster, especially for large polyhedrons.
- Improvements to highlighting mechanisms allowing passive highlighting and multiple highlights of the same overlay type.
- Improvements to isolate, hide and show offer more precise control of behavior.
- HOOPS Visualize now supports export to the OBJ file format.
Finally, the Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality support in HOOPS Visualize is now available for C++ users on Windows using the DirectX 11 driver. With HOOPS Visualize, develop once for desktop applications and re-use the code for Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality applications with little modification or add a new AR/VR mode to the existing application powered by HOOPS Visualize.
