HOOPS Communicator 2024 Provides Full Support of 3D Connexion, Improves Color and Light Editing Workflows
BEND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tech Soft 3D, the leading provider of engineering software development toolkits, today announced the availability of HOOPS Communicator 2024, the leading toolkit for advanced 3D web visualization of large models. Enhancements to HOOPS Communicator enable better support for editing workflows for light and color management and support for 3D Connexion’s 3D mouse suite.
“With the enhancements we’ve made, HOOPS Communicator is doing more than allowing the viewing of 3D CAD Data,” said Marco Salino, Product Manager of Visualization Technologies at Tech Soft 3D. “The 2024 release showcases how to edit colors and lights and allow them to persist by serializing changes. This is important because it enables those changes to be automatically updated with each reload or revision of the file. Being able to edit the properties of lights and color within the scene is only the beginning. This work lays the framework for persisting other scene changes in future releases - a game changer for our partners’ users."
Other key features in HOOPS Communicator 2024 include:
- Complete 3D Connexion Support: Full support of 3D Connexion devices is a must-have for professional 3D engineering software. Their 3D Space Mouse and 3D CAD Mouse allow engineers to design and create 3D models more efficiently and comfortably than with conventional mice.
- New Graphics Functionality: Specular, ambient, and emissive colors can be set using Phong lighting. When using cutting planes, the capping geometry (intersection of the cutting plane and the model) can now be retrieved using an API. Lastly, light management has been improved, now allowing easy deletion and modification of lights and their properties.
- New Import Option: When coupled with HOOPS Exchange in the HOOPS Web Platform, a new import technique generates improved tessellation for IFC files resulting in better visualization of complicated building features. This improved import of IFC files is essential for supporting AEC and BIM workflows relying on this universal file format.
